The name of the country duo "Dos Paises"; came almost by itself.
The two musicians of this formation, come from two different countries: Joerg from Germany and Ihor from Ukraine. "DOS PAISES" was founded on June 4, 2014, by Joerg Harnack in the Ukraine. In a country like Ukraine, American country music was, until then, almost completely unknown. Even the names of world-renowned country musicians, such as Johnny Cash, Willy Nelson or Hank Williams, had never been heard in the Ukraine, to Joerg's surprise. That's why Joerg and Ihor have set themselves the task of making American country music better known in this country. Born and raised in Bremen / Germany, Joerg now lives, for more than 6 years, for personal reasons, in Ternopil, a beautiful city in western Ukraine. For 50 years now, Joerg has been active as a singer / songwriter, guitarist and drummer in American country music. After his first year as a soloist in Ukraine, in 2014 he founded the duet "DOS PAISES" with guitarist Ihor Chykalo. Joerg, who is responsible for vocals, rhythm guitar, stompbox and harmonica, also wrote all own songs of DOS PAISES. Ihor provides with lead guitar, ukulele and banjo, for the typical sound of the duett. Meanwhile, the duet is well known, far beyond the borders of Ukraine. Exciting concerts in several European countries. For example, in 2017 at the largest Country Festival in Eastern Europe, in Visaginas / Lithuania, where they performed with international country stars from the USA, France, Italy, Georgia and Poland. 2017 at the Rhein-Sieg country meeting near Bonn, Every year, since 2017 at the Country-Festival B'in Holthacker and in 2018 at the biggest European Country-Meeting in Berlin. In May 2019 a successful tour with many concerts in well-known clubs and saloons of the country and western scene. As conclusion of the tour, a performance at the largest Country & Western Festival in Northern Germany, in Schortens.
DOS PAISES plays a lot of their own compositions, and the most popular country songs from several decades. This duet not only copy the songs, they are able, to make them to their own songs. With their huge repertoire, DOS PAISES succeeds in reacting flexibly to the guests' mood. This is fresh and this is new in the country scene and makes this kind of music more than just alive. Whether with acoustic guitars, banjo, ukulele or slide guitar, the music of DOS PAISES sounds anything but old-fashioned. And the powerful, deep voice of Jörg, provides again and again for goosebumps feeling pure. Again and again, Ihor finds surprising riffs on guitar that are borrowed from jazz, blues and rock music, which is seldom heard in conventional country music.
